The Music Center: The Music Center performing artists exemplify artistic excellence, sparking creative thinking in young audiences by guiding them on a vibrant journey through the world’s cultural traditions. From the dances of Latin America to the melodies of Asia, and from the rhythms of Africa to historical interpretations of key figures from United States history, each performance is a high-quality, interactive arts experience where students expand their understanding of cultures and artistic practices while experiencing the magic and immediacy of live performance. Artists engage students directly, modeling creativity in action, inviting participation, and inspiring them to imagine new possibilities for expression while cultivating skills such as curiosity, collaboration, and innovation.
Description of programs: Every performance is designed to complement classroom learning and includes curriculum-connected materials, such as artist background, performance insights and pre- and post-performance activities that link to multiple subject areas. These resources help educators extend the impact of each assembly, enabling students to deepen their appreciation of the arts, discover connections across cultures and traditions, and gain meaningful opportunities to engage with performing arts disciplines.
