"Hearty" Heartlife: EarthCapades Co-Director and performer, has been a professional entertainer and educator since 1987. After receiving a BA in Environmental Education he became a teacher and was instantly a huge hit performing as a storyteller, unicyclist and juggler. Hearty has studied comedy with Dan Holzman of the Raspyni Brothers and acrobatics with the highly respected Chinese Master Mr. LuYi. Amongst other talents, Hearty is a dedicated father, circus arts coach, juggler, surfer, comedian and an all around bald guy.
Lissin Lev Chaya: EarthCapades Co-Director and performer, has been singing for as long as she’s been walking and has been presenting educational school assembly programs for over 20 years. A renowned classical vocalist, Lissin has studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Interlochen Arts Camp, and The Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. She was a featured soloist in the world premier performance and live recording of Kay Gardner’s “Ouroboros” at the National Women’s Music Festival and has played lead roles in dozens of musicals. Lissin is the proud mother of teenage juggler, poet and webmaster Kai Heartlife.

EarthCapades award-winning assembly programs will be virtual for the 2020/21 school year! Live, interactive, online environmental theater is presented on Crowdcast. Programs can be viewed directly through Crowdcast or teachers can share screens with Zoom, Google Classrooms, or other platform, both at home and at school. EarthCapades uses core curriculum standards to present fun, exciting and memorable programs for all learning styles.
The H2O Show
Learn about the importance and science of the Earth’s most precious resource, water, in “The H2O Show.” EarthCapades’ multi-talented performers take you on a journey through the cycle of water, where our water comes from, and how we all can take care of it. “The H2O Show” is a thrilling blend of environmental education and entertainment. New presentations, updated every school year, combine music, juggling, magic, comedy, and audience participation with learning to enthrall teachers and students of all ages. Water is the star of the show, and audiences are amazed as a crystal ball of water appears from nowhere, a glass of water floats in the air, water is juggled, sung about, talked about and learned about in new and exciting ways. Take a ride from the clouds and the rain through the pipes and the treatment plants to learn how water connects everything on the planet. Designed to be age appropriate for elementary audiences, grades K-6.
Waste Reduction Production
Learn about natural resources, conservation and how Saving the Planet can be Fun! “The Planetary Circus” is a revolving mélange of EarthCapades’ best routines custom selected for each venue. Water Awareness and Waste Reduction messages are presented with a blend of humor, circus arts and music to teach practical solutions to real environmental problems. EarthCapades exciting and memorable performances begin with highly developed acrobatic and juggling skills, which captivate the audience and guarantee their focused attention. Throughout the show EarthCapades hits the audience in their funny bones and gets them enthusiastically involved while bringing children and adult volunteers onto the stage. EarthCapades effectively weaves comedy and circus skills with clear lessons about Earth science and positive environmental choices to demonstrate that Every Day is Earth Day! Can be customized for any age group.
