Arts Teach: Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents a roster of over 70 professional teaching artists in music, dance, theatre and the visual arts from around the globe. An enriching arts-in-education program, Arts Teach provides the wonder and excitement of live performance and hands-on activities to schools in Southern California.
Description of programs:
The Center’s Arts Teach brings Southern California’s finest professional teaching artists to your school or classroom with a rich assortment of engaging and culturally rich programs for your students.
Assemblies: Over one hundred assembly performances are available to introduce your students to a specific performing art, dive into a particular curriculum concept or raise social or cultural awareness. Performances range from the classical to the contemporary in dance, music and theatre and are 45-minutes in length.
Workshops: Students get the opportunity to work in a more intimate setting during these 60-minute sessions. Professional artists can guide your classroom in a hands-on visual art project, develop performance techniques in music, theatre or dance or creatively develop literacy skills. Regardless of which workshop you choose, your students will walk away with a personal, artistic experience.
Residencies: Three to twelve session residency programs are available to give your students an in-depth and sequential arts experience with a professional teaching artist. Residency content and length is customizable and can be focused on an area of your choosing.
